This was supposed to be a cross trade,but, didn't work out so well.

This started out to be a cross trade for a CPU/HS/MB/RAM combo that Elvito1981 was selling on [H]ardforum. Unfortunately, Elvito1981 decided to wait until my MO arrived 3 days later on a Friday before sending me the combo on the following Monday. First he tells me it went out USPS, then he tells me it went out UPS and gives me a tracking# that isn't any good until Monday blah, blah, blah...he just decided not to cross trade with me after we had agreed to it. I was a little irritated, but, I rationalized it by telling myself that he was probably just nervous about getting ripped off.

Then I got the package.

The combo was packed in a Nordstrom's box. Not the corrugated kind, mind you.
It was the flimsy chipboard kind they put sweaters in.
I couldn't believe it. I almost didn't even open it, but, amazingly it wasn't smashed up too horribly so I did. The whole combo was wrapped, completely assembled and still covered with dust, in bubble wrap and surrounded by newspaper and peanuts. No anti-stat of any kind.
When I asked him why he didn't use any, he replies to me with ,"What anti-stat bags?".

To his credit, when I told him that I would have to thoroughly test everything out before I signed off on it, he replied with, "OK, if it doesn't work lemme know."

I tested everything out and ended up with a working combo, so, in that respect I am satisfied, and, I sincerely believe that had the combo not been working, he would have refunded my money.

It is not my contention that he is in any way a thief or a troll. It's more like he just doesn't seem to give a shit.

Since I still ended up with, basically, what I paid for I'm leaving a nuetral.
